The Indian National Congress Declares 26^th January 1930 as Independence Day or the day as PURNA SWARAJ (Complete Independence) which occurred 17 years after the date i.e. 1947 August 15.

1950

The Constitution of India came into force.

Rajendra Prasad was sworn in  as First President of India. Declared and observed on 26^th January as REPUBLIC DAY.

1965

HINDI Language become as the Official Language of India.

2001

An earthquake occurred in Gujarat causing more than 20000 deaths.
